SAVANT is a government programme initiated by the ICT Development Council, chaired by the Minister of Trade & Industry – a comprehensive group of companies representing the full spectrum of the ICT sector in South Africa. Its broad purpose is to support the growth of the sector to serve the purposes of employment creation, wealth creation and empowerment, though business development, export and investment growth.
The founding partners include Absa, Business Connexion, Bytes Technology, Dimension Data, MTN, Nedbank, Telkom, the Information Technology Association and the South African Electrotechnical Export Council.
SAVANT addresses 5 key areas of the South African ICT & E market, one of which is niche software development and niche application enhancement.
All software enterprises in operating in the software development, implementation and integration market in South Africa are invited to add their details to the Outsourcing SA database. It is free of charge and offers a unique addition to their marketing arsenal.
